Helen Hille Bonneau Steven, 83, a longtime resident of Lincoln, died peacefully on Sunday, July 8, 2012. Helen worked for the Lincoln Public schools in special education as a home bound teacher and as a substitute teacher until her retirement in 1993. She began her teaching career in a one room school house in Cumming County, Nebraska. She received her Masters in Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Survived by her husband, Jack Steven; daughters and their families: Jody Bonneau and Jeffrey Bell and sons Martin and Kevin of Naperville, Ill.; Nancy Bonneau Worth and Gregory Worth and daughters Bailey and Ella of Overland Park, Kan.; her step-daughters and their families: Suzanne Steven Byler of Beatrice; Sherril Steven Kilpatrick and George Kilpatrick and son Jay of Lincoln; Marche' Steven Cepure and Paul Cepure and sons Nick and Zac of Lincoln; her sisters and brothers-in-law and 16 nieces and nephews. Preceeded in death by her mother and father, Alma and William Hille of Bancroft, brother Vernon Hille of Fort Worth, Texas, and son-in-law Daniel Blackman. Her immediate family along with many extended family members and friends around the country value the influence of having Helen as part of their lives.

In keeping with Helen's giving spirit and desire to have everyone involved, the family will be hosting a party in her honor Wednesday, July 11 from 6-8 p.m. at Falls Reception Hall, 5925 Adams. (casual attire). In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be directed to the Lincoln Public School Foundation, the charity of your choice, or sent to Lincoln Family Funeral Home, 5844 Fremont Street, Lincoln, NE 68507.

As stated in Hebrews 13:1-2, "Let brother love continue. Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unaware.
