Notes for Loren Richard Bonneau
On his dad's side, Loren's great-grandfather came from France (Bonneau) and moved to Canada, and then apparently killed someone (weird...) and came to the US where he joined the Union Army in the Civil War and lost his leg and then got a wooden leg. Loren remembers thinking how strange it was that his great-grandpa had a wooden leg. But he said he was only about 3 and 5 years old when he met him. Loren's great-grandfather lived in Iowa, Nebraska and Oregon.
Loren grew up in a dry household, they don't believe in drinking alcohol, there are some cities/counties in the US that are "dry" meaning they dont sell alcohol, his parents were very religious and didnt believe in it. He grew up in a farm during the depression, and they lived 6 miles from town, but they never went to that town because they served alcohol. so they always went to the town 11 miles away instead because it was a dry town.
