When I met him in Trinidad, he immediately reminded me that we had both worked at Shell Trinidad Limited in Port of Spain. He remembered me well from there, and also that my handbag had been stolen from my office one day. Perfectly true. But I had completely forgotten about Shell and that Wilfred had worked there - it was my first ever job, at age 17 - Secretary to the Chemicals Manager. In those days I did not know nor care about any family connection with this old man!! Life was just one big beautiful bubble right then.
